Artscape
Baltimore, Maryland can lay claim to many high-quality cultural offerings, and one of the most notable is the very biggest free art festival in the United States.
Every year, more than 150 artists, designers, and craftspeople as well as musicians and other performers take part in Artscape, drawing better than 350,000 attendees across three incredibly stimulating days in July.
Spectacular Variety
Outdoor sculptures to dance performances, fine photography to epic concerts, video-game design to pop-up street theater: Artscape, administered by the Baltimore Festival of the Arts, celebrates human creativity in all of its forms.
Besides taking in concert or theater and shopping for arts-and-crafts among the many vendor stalls, you’ll also have plenty of opportunity for making art yourself via interactive demonstrations, contests, and other hands-on fun.
Artscape also sees a Baltimore area visual artist or collaborative receive the distinguished Janet & Walter Sondheim Artscape Prize.
The festival plays out under outdoor tents along Mount Royal Avenue and North Charles Street as well as numerous indoor venues such as the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall and the BGE Main Stage at the Maryland Institute College of Art.
